See Inside Manufacturing
Through See Inside Manufacturing, the Government and the UK motor industry are calling on the budding young designers and engineers of tomorrow to see how they can play a role in developing or producing some of the world’s most admired and ground-breaking products.
Back in January 2011, the UK’s leading advanced manufacturers and government met to discuss how they could work together to promote manufacturing excellence, challenge perceptions of the industry and dispel the myth that Britain doesn’t make anything anymore.
What followed was an outstanding response from UK automotive, as more than forty companies participated in the very first series of See Inside Manufacturing events throughout September of that year.
So successful were those events, that this led Business Secretary, Vince Cable, to announce the return of ‘See Inside Manufacturing’ with events running throughout June 2012 and October 2013.
In 2013, See Inside Manufacturing expanded from three to ten sectors with seven new industries joining the automotive, aerospace and food and drink sectors.
The initiative is open to all young people in the UK, providing a unique opportunity to get behind the scenes of some of the UK’s world-class automotive facilities to learn about modern manufacturing and the range of rewarding jobs available in this diverse sector.
